Administrative Structure at Netaji Nagar Day College

In a system of indirect democratic management, Netaji Nagar Day College emphasizes on exchange of views of teaching and non-teaching employees in the G.B. of the College and other members of the G.B. occurs on different subjects in each meeting of the G.B.

The organizational structure of Netaji Nagar Day College has three levels. The Governing Body (GB) is the apex body. The Heads of Departments, members of the teaching staff of different departments, Laboratory instructors, Librarian, Head Clerk and Accountant constitute the middle tier and other members of administrative and technical staff at the bottom level.

There are different statutory bodies besides the GB, such as Finance Committee, Development Committee, Academic Committee, Teachers' Council, and Library Committee. These statutory bodies perform advisory duties. For, the academic ambiance and administrative transparency are two essential indices to appreciate an institution's efficiency in internal co-ordination and management.

We have never faced any hindrance in the way of co-ordinated functioning of the Governing Body, the Principal, the Teachers' Council, the Non-Teaching Staff Association and the Students' Union. If one speaks of some monitoring mechanism, the intimate interrelation between all these essential agencies act as deterrent to any aberration in both academic and administrative disciplines of the College. Regular financial audits are a part of the monitoring system; so is the practice of internal academic audit which we have recently begun to organize for monitoring the academic health of the College. The non-teaching staff members remain accountable to the Principal in the discharge of their daily duties. They have the scope to hone their skill and increase their professional efficiency as the College conducts Computer Training Programme to introduce them to the updated software in office management.

The different departments of the College are entrusted with the task of preparing academic calendars before the start of an academic session. The Academic Committee, comprising of the Heads of Departments, oversee and co-ordinate the whole exercise.
