The College has always shown its keen interest in engaging students in different co-curricular activities in addition to their academic improvement.

By organizing seminars on different topics of different subjects, issues of ethics and contemporary relevance, the college tried to improve the intellectual ability of students along with providing them the value – based education.

The College provides equal opportunities to all the students and members of the staff in the context of enjoyment of their rights and privileges in accordance with the preamble to the constitution of India. But at the same time, the college has also provided access to the students hailing from socially and economically disadvantaged sections of the society by providing reservation of seats for the students of S.C and S.T categories along with providing concessions in fees to S.C, S.T. and poor students.

Students are encouraged to participate in different forms of competition related to sports & games and cultural events.

Students of this college have already proved their talent in these fields in different inter-college competitions organized by the University of Calcutta and different non-government organizations of this State. The students also contribute their articles in the magazine of the College in addition to their participation in seminars in the College. All these have helped their self-development through development of their personality.

The Science Club and Eco Club of the college held seminars, workshops and exhibitions inside the College in order to develop environmental awareness among students and members of the staff. The students and members of the staff organized medical check-up. Medical checkup camp in collaboration with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and some Non-Govt. Organisations. Campaigns among the local residents to make them aware of the prevention from diseases like Malaria, Thalasemia, Dengue, etc. were also effectively organized.
