| Admission Test for Admission to Geography will be conducted on 19th June, 2010 |
1. Only properly filled-in Admission from along with attested copies of Admit Card and Mark Sheet of qualifying Examination to be considered for Admission to Degree course streams.
2. Students seeking admission to this College on transfer must submit the documents mentioned in item no I along with Transfer Certificate from the authority of the institute last studied in.
3. A candidate from Council/ University other than H.S. Council of W.B. of Calcutta University may only be provisional admitted subject to his/her submission of proper Migration Certificate within one month of such admission. His/her case would then be forwarded to the Calcutta University for consideration. If not favorably considered by the University, his/her admission to this College would automatically stand cancelled and the provisional admission fee paid would not be refunded.
4. A candidate with a break in study after passing the H.S. Examination and now seeking admission to this college must submit a credible certificate detailing the cause for the break from some person in a responsible position like Gazetted Officers, M.L.A., Councillors/Members of Local Bodies (such as Municipalities, Panchayats, etc.)
5. For admission to the three-years Degree course in all the streams, both in Honours and in General courses, 22% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste and 6% for Scheduled Tribe candidates. Such candidates must submit relevant certificate, document to their claim to be considered in the reserved categories.

Admission Qualification:
1. a candidate who has passed Higher Secondary(10+2) or its equivalent examination is eligible to seek admission to the 1st year of the 3-years B.A./B.Sc/B.Com(Hons./General/Major) or B.Mus.(Hons.&General) Course of studies provided he/she has also passed in english having full marks not being less than 100
However, no candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognized regular Course of study after passing the previos qualifying examination.
Explanation:
The year of admission shall not be taken into account while calculating 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying Examination.
For the purpose of determinining eligibility for admission to the Honours Course , aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory environmental Education/Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks . If the subject "Environmental Science" is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks , may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.
2.(a) A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained :
(i) A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.( in case of B.Mus(Hons.)- 45% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject Music in the pre-qualifing examination)
OR
(ii) 55% marks in the subject or realated subject at the previuos qualifying examination.(In case of B.Mus.(Hons) 50% marks in the subject at the pre-qualifying exam.)
OR
(iii) 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his / her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied (In case of B.Mus.(Hons.)-45% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the Music in the Pre-qualifying exam. Candidates shall be admitted on the basic of the admission test to be conducted by the college authority concerned.)
2(b). However, Candidates belonging to the scheduled caste or scheduled tribe Community taking up Honours Course of study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.
3. Students who have passed the Higher Secondary(10+2) Examination or its equivalent from the All India Boards/ Councils(i.e. CBSC.ISC and national Institute of Open Schooling ) need not require to submit the migration certificate for getting registation under this university
4. For the B.A.?B.Sc.(Honours/General/ Major) Course of Studies a candidate is required to choose his/her Honours and two/ three elective subjects, as the case may be, from among Group-1 to VIII as follows by taking not more than one subject from any of the groups mentioned hereunder
Admission Criteria
1. A candidate shall be allowed to take up the subjects under the heading (A) if he/she passed the subjects mentioned under the heading (B) in the previous qualifying Examination along with 5 (five) recognized subjects having full marks of 450 (4 papers of 100 marks each + 1 paper of 50 marks) including English of 100 marks.

Academic Session
The tenure of an academic session consists of three time-periods -from 1st July to the beginning of the Puja holidays, the end of the Puja Holidays to 24th December and from 2nd January to 30th June as per the Calcutta University rules.
The duration of daily class- hours on full weekdays extends from 10.30 A.M. to 5.15 P.M. and on Saturdays from 10.30 A.M. to 1.50 P.M.
